Dragon Tail - Transducer Mount
This tip submitted by Ken Cave
The picture shows the mounting of my Horizon DSTS51
Transducer located in front of the rudder.
It is easy to mount and replace if needed, even in the water, as
it connects to a bracket that is mounted on the keel.
The wires to the depth sounder are mounted beside the rudder which enters
into the cowl vent at the rear of the boat. From there it is a simple procedure
to get them to the depth sounder without drilling a lot of holes, etc.
As I keep my boat in the water all year round, I usually clean the bottom
Of the unit with a plastic-scrubbing pad when I head out on a trip.
So far the unit has worked well in this location.
