Here is a very simple fix for preventing the bar ends of the anchor from
damaging the inside of the anchor locker. It isn't much but I believe in
the saying, "Keep it simple, stupid". I drilled a half inch hole in a used
tennis ball and stuck it over the ends of the side bars of my anchor. This
also prevents it from banging around in there and making noise. I have
also placed a section of that rubberized matting you can buy at West Marine
in the bottom to keep the rode and chain off the bottom, helping it to
drain and dry out after use of the anchor. You just have to cut the grid
to fit the bottom. Simple and easy to do.
