Ken, did you and John ever connect about the motor mount? He said he was looking for one so he could mount his older 2-stroke as a backup to his diesel inboard engine. He liked the extension on mine that allows a bit more room between the engine and the transom. I suggested that he look for one online or fabricate something using some wooden blocks and long lag bolts. I did not hear from him this week about it because he was prepping his boat for launch this weekend.
I just read through this and I guess I'll probably need to replace mine too. I just picked up a Yamaha 9.9 long shaft electric start motor... it's not light. I think Yamaha rated it at about 110lbs. I'm sure the motor mount on my boat is original.

Ken, I finally got ahold of my buddy and he decided that he needs a longer mount (one with an extension mount) and for a heavier engine. So he thanked you for holding off and he’s going to pass on your motor mount. He is planning to sail from Long Island Sound this fall down the ICW to west coast of Florida and wanted to have backup power in case he had a problem with his inboard diesel or transmission. He’s planning to look for a sale this summer at Defender or elsewhere on a heavier unit. Best of luck selling your item, I’d guess you might do well on Sailboatowners dot com or similar.
