To All Forum Users,

We normally don't respond to forum spammer activity, but recently there has been an unusual amount of activity.
For years, spammers have created forum accounts then posted advertisements on our forum.
This created hours of viewing and removing non-sailing posts.
Over this time, we have implemented several anti-spamming techniques, which has reduced our exposure to spammers.

In the last 2-weeks (Dec-1) to (Dec-15) here are the facts:
3 Approved Forum New Account Requests
149 Rejected Forum New Account Requests
152 Total Forum New Account Requests

That's a 2-percent valid request rate and a 98-percent spammer request rate.

Effective Immediately, all forum new account requests will be approved individually by a person (who is a volunteer).

If you are requesting a new forum account, you will not be approved the same day.

This post will be locked because as a matter of policy we do not discuss our anti-spamming techniques on a public forum.

Anyone with comments, please contact me directly and do not post on the forum.
