Hi Todd,
I am not the one you are looking for but for many years, I had my boat nearby, across the river at James Creek Marina, adjacent to the Wash Channel and Fort McNair. I use to sail over to the Wash Sailing Marina for a pressure wash and/or bottom painting. Approximately 4-5 years ago, I moved my boat down river to the Quantico Marine Base.

I see from your sign off that you provide lessons or sail out of Aquia Harbor. That’s about …6 miles or so downriver from Quantico. For 2 years, I tried to set up a day to get my boat bottom painted at that marina in Aquia that has a few sailboats and an open arm travel lift. I even went down there to check it out. The proprietors seem nice, they just never seemed to have a time for me to bring my boat in. Seems there was always another boat in the maintenance area. So, I gave up on them especially after some at my marina indicated they had same experience. Wind up was that a few sailors indicated that the Boathouse Marina in Colonial Beach was very accommodating. So, Two of us made arrangements and we had our boats bottom painted down there. But…Colonial Beach is perhaps 32 miles away!

Just wanted to share my story! If you currently sail out of Aquia Harbor, maybe I will see you out on the river some day!
