We arrived in Maryland on Friday after a long but uneventful trip across the country. We had no problems with the boat or trailer and the Suburban pulled like a champ for 5 days! Two thumbs up for my weight-distributing hitch...I think it made a huge difference in the way the boat towed. We had a chance to stop at Brookville Lake in Indiana to see an old friend and howl at the moon a little...a nice way to break up the week long drive. Now we are settling in here in Darnestown and waging war on the boxes. Soon I will have spare time again to check in on the "happenings" here on the board and maybe get my boat in the slip down at Herrington South. Fair winds!
Oj, You mean SWMBO's priority? Kitchen...kids rooms....other rooms....blah,blah,blah.....and finally, the garage! Might be next weekend before I can get the boat ready. No worries...it's over 90 here and I'm still adjusting from Vegas humidity (?) to the slightly juicier Maryland setting. Working inside is a plus right now! Besides, after looking at the boat in my rearview mirror for a week I need a few days to decompress and hang with my kids.
Welcome to Maryland Nate! In addition to humidity, we also specialize in millions of these guys. You got here just in time to see the adult stage of these 17-year cicadas. You hear something buzzing??? The good news is they won't interfere with sailing. Hope to see you on the Chesapeake!
