I finally gave up on trying to maintain the brightwork on the cabin top, i.e. the teak grab rails and eyebrow trim. After 30+ years of sun and salt, there was not much left to preserve. I replaced the teak hand rail with 2 (per side) of these White Water Stainless Steel Oval Grab Rails, 24 inch.
and the eyebrow trim piece with strip of 3/4" vinyl tape. One advantage with the new grab rails is that the overall height is a little lower, and it is much easier to stand on them and you are much more secure when on the cabin roof.
Bill, is the vinyl tape something like stick-on letters? I like the SS tubing. Did you make or buy those frameless windows, or were they original equipment on your model of the boat?
I had four handrails custom-made by PlasTeak to replace my teak rails (two different sizes). I get frequent comments about how nice my "teak" looks... (Recycled, no less.)

Yes, the vinyl accent tape the same as stick-on letters. My boat is 89', so the windows are frameless. Somewhere back in the archives is an article by me installing them. Sad part is that they are already showing age (UV is a killer) and will need to be replaced in a few years. At least I know how this time!
I'm impressed the SS hand rails mounting holes aligned so well with the holes holding the original teak. I had considered doing what Dave did -- replace with PlasTeak. I instead bought new from CD just have not mounted them yet. I figured our boats have just enough teak that if I replaced one thing I would want to replace all, so I will just settle for passing the 20 ft. rule!
