Up north as winter sets in it’s time to consider what projects are in need of doing. There are (1) needs to get done like through hulls, engines, leaks, etc and (2) nice to do projects like lights, navigation electronics, audio and WiFi.
Mine are: 1. Check the through hulls and replace the seacocks if necessary. 2. Drop the mast and check the lights, Windex, shrouds and stays and all fasteners. 3. Service the engine, oil, plugs, impeller and check the carburetor and cooling. 4. Seal the chainplate fittings and portlights. 5. Refinish the brightwork with Cetol. 6. Replace the cabin cushions. 7. Test the battery at the auto parts store.
How about your list? Winter can be a remarkably short time if you have a long list of projects.
