For those wishing, in case of an emergency, to have a back-up motor available, here is a drawing kindly made available by the new owner of our previous boat. The drawing accurately provides all the dimensions required to make, fabricate or create your own from whatever scraps of wood is available. (I've used a cherry hardwood and teak scraps)

For your boat you my wish to verify the dimensions of your swim-ladder and also the type and make of your outboard to ensure a proper fit

A complete description of the bracket including critical details are available by searching the archive under the title: "Honda 2.3 as back-up mounted to C250 swimladder"

Henk, Would having a motor hanging on the ladder block your ability to get back on the boat in an overboard situation?

Good question.

The motor will only be placed on the swim ladder bracket in case of an emergency main engine failure.

The bracket itself, giving its location, can stay mounted permanently without interfering with the function and safety of the swim ladder both in up or down position.

As per illustration below the auxiliary motor, when not in use, is stored/suspended next to the main outboard motor on a rail connected to the fuel tank and starboard stern rail
