I went to Catalina Island in late August for a couple of overnights on anchor - all went well... but in the process I managed to make three small bags of trash over just three days of being away from the dock. Which raised a question... what do you do with trash?
Keeping the trash bags outside is an option but not a good one which led to just keeping the bags out of way as much as possible which for me turned out to be behind the cockpit ladder.
A more organized and sanitary way to do that would be with some sort of box to contain the trash while away from the dock... a trash dumpster of sorts.
I had a bit of 1/4-inch plywood left over from the shelf project that would be perfect for such a box.
The palm tree inlay was unused from the salon table project and was a bit of an experiment and it did install with a couple hours of carving out the top of the ply to make the inlay flush with the top. As an aside - that inlay kit is really nicely done. I purchased it for about $25 through Etsy.
The box fits nicely behind the ladder and at this early stage it seems like it will work fine. We shall see...
