I have an '86 swing keel in Otway, NC.. which is in Downeast Carteret County.
Trying to see if there is interest in the boat. I'm thinking about $750 if the person comes and gets it and has a means of moving it.
No trailer. No motor. I don't want to try to move it.
-The hull is in pretty good shape. -Have sails, masts, etc -Been sitting for years now... -Keel cable is currently broken. I think I still have the repair kit somewhere. -Interior is pretty rough at this point. -I think it would be easily fixable with some elbow grease, or a good source of parts.
I loved the boat, but the wife is scared to death of it... Thus, never fixed the keel cable.
If there doesn't seem to be interest, I'll probably cut it up, save the hardware for the next project, and sell the mast, and peculiar parts..
Joshua What did you finally decide on this, selling or parting it out? Are the interior parts (drawers, bulkheads, galley, stairs) in ok shape? How about the gauges, compass, winches, pulpits, stanchions and hatches? Mast, boom and rigging in ok shape?

I'm not seeing much interest in the boat as whole... so, it looks like I'll either part it out, or donate it... I'd prefer to donate it, as there really isn't much at all wrong with the boat.. just hate to kill it... but I'm not sure if the local community college has the capability of transporting it... If they don't, I'll part it out, and cut up the hull..
Either way, I'll probably do something in the next few weeks... If I part it out, I'll post here, and start another topic....
However, it has always been a 'bucket list' item for me to build a fairly large sailboat... so if I part it out, I'd probably keep the winches, cleats, etc.. items, that would be useful in another boat..
Joshua I enjoyed reading your blog about Harkers Island. It's a pristine and remote place to its credit. Wikipedia has a good background article about it. I hope you're able to rehabilitate or donate your C25 to a deserving new owner.
