I sailed in our club's Grand Ole Open Regatta last weekend, crewing for one of our former C-22 fleet members on his Capri 26. It was a weekend of distance racing for the cruisers and buoy racing for the Vanguard 15 dinghy fleet. We came in first with 3 bullets, correcting over a J70 and a Merit 25. On Saturday, the J70 finished just over 18 minutes ahead of us, but had to give us over 30 minutes on corrected time! It's sweet having a high Portsmouth rating! Saturday was a day of on and off rain, winds 8-12 kts, and we covered almost all of our usual sailing area, avoiding shallows and going around 2 islands, taking about 2 1/2 hours. The second race was once around on our Wednesday night short course, about 1 hour. Sunday, the winds piped up to 12, gusting to 14, taking us around half of the Sat. course, no rain. All in all, winds were ideal for the Capri.

How sad for the little J... Does a horizon job on you, and you get the hardware! Anyway, good job!
