I just received a request from Paypal that the forum wanted me to pay my dues. I also received a letter from the Association thanking me for renewing my membership. The question is do I need to renew again or not this early?
Note from merchant Your membership and Mainsheet subscription will expire soon, or may have already. To reduce our costs (postage & invoicing), we offer you the ability to pay via PayPal. If we do not hear from you in the next several days, we will mail a renewal notice. Thank you for your ongoing support."
My membership is good through 12/31/14
Is this spam or an early(way early) notice(s) (I have recieved two so far)?

We should not do that. It’s dishonest. Members should only renew just before their membership is over. </font id="navy"></font id="size2"></font id="Comic Sans MS">
Jerry, I understand your frustration. I am also sent early renewals as well. Let me give you a little history which is not meant to be an excuse. We have a data manager who is contracted thru this association. This individual works will all the Catalina Assn.'s for 20 years. These renewals are one quarterly, just in time for the membership list to be given to the editor of the Mainsheet. Billing early prevents members from not getting the next Mainsheet as many pay after their membership expires. Thus not getting a Mainsheet. We get emails from members who say they did not get the current issue and this is because they failed to pay on time. By billing early, we try to prevent this. Is this the best system, yes for some and no for others. We are continually looking at ways to make improvements. And we certainly are listening to you. Also remember, the officers are volunteers and not paid. We all have full time jobs. We are doing the best with what we have and time we have. After all, we do sail as well We currently have had 2 open Officer positions. That make more work for us. There is an election coming up and need volunteers to step up and help out. This Association could use an additional new positions as well, such as Membership and Development, etc. Thanks Jerry for taking the time to bring this up. I hope with the next term of officers, this issue will be addressed. Feel free to respond back. Steve Auerbach, outgoing Treasurer for 6 years or more.
Well the Paypal notification stopped, but today I received the normal letter request. I checked my member account and it specifies 6/30/2015 not 2014. Please help fix this error.

Based on that above I changed to 2014, now you are saying it should be 2015. I am confused. Steve
Apparently my wording was confusing. The letter and PayPal showed the date of 2014 which means my membership has expired, however, the actual date of expiration should be, as stated in the membership area, 6-30-2015 therefore showing that I am a paid active member and not overdue.
Jerry, I researched your account. Our bookkeeper made a mistake and sent you an renewal notice twice. You have the correct expiration date of 6-30-2015. I'm sending you an email with the details.
