Two things: Need new rubber slide track jib halyard for 97 wk. Mine snapped at top of mast during decommissioning last year. Do not see them available.

Also never raised mast. Take down was dicey and did not keep list. What are propper steps? Have teenage sons but am not inclined to build exacting kits for leverage.

Do you have a CDI furler? I believe that their older models used a slide track like you describe. You should call CDI about getting a replacement part. I have bought parts from them, and they have good service.

As for dropping and raising the mast, I would advise building a gin pole instead of jeopardizing the safety of your sons. There are a bunch of threads on this subject. Here's one.

Vern, After many years of stepping/unstepping mast my recommendation is see if there is a marina close by, who would step it the first time. Lots of posts here on this, but I chose to pay the $50 and let them do it with a crane.
