Well it's been a busy weekend at the island. Yesterday we had a helicopter crash nearby. Then today on our sail we discovered this:

And I thought, you know, I can see how one boat can get into trouble, but two???

Then we found these two guys on the other side of the island...

Oh, and a public service announcement to always check those tide tables.....

I agree, how do you not notice the boat beginning to bounce off the bottom (even when asleep) when waves go under the boat and not get the heck out of the situation? It's not like the tide instantly goes out.

If I ever get in the situation of starting to go aground I'd try to alert my neighbors if I thought they were going to go aground also.

Read about the helicopter crash. Sounds like mechanical failure (at least one rotor blade came off, if not both) from eyewitness accounts. Pilot was a long time American Airlines pilot who just celebrated his 60th birthday on Thanksgiving Day. Sooo sad!

So spoiled over where we sail, no tides or currents....but hey, just an excuse to break out another beer and wait for the tide to come back in
