I'm sure our 2005 C250 WB is well over 3,600lb at the ramp! In addition to the kitchen sink, we carry a 2nd battery, 45Gallons Fresh water, Fridge Freezer, AC, TV, 1700W Gennerator, GPS..... etc. etc. etc.
It can be speculated why Catalina intentionally low balled the weight or why they haven't corrected it. My guess given that they haven't corrected is that it was low balled.
For what reason? Perhaps freight charges or trailer brakes. States have various brake requirements based often on weight. I've heard some various numbers that would require brakes on both axles and some that would eliminate the use of surge brakes so perhaps trailer brakes is the issue.
At any rate, I think the weight of an unfitted C250 wb is likely in the low to mid 3,000 range but by the time the boat is fitted out for sailing with anchors, engine and sailing gear, it will undoubtedly reach 4,000 and beyond.
Perhaps a lot of stuff could be left behind or chucked, however, you'd may wish to provide a few small comforts and consider provision for the unforeseen or on longer voyages...

RV manufacturers are notorious for low balling weights. They want buyers to think they can get by with the truck they have rather than having to buy a 3/4 or one ton model to correctly haul their new and heavy toy.
