I was curious to see what the group thinks about cleaning the keel trunk after the annual haul out. I can easily reach the shallow pocket along the training edge, but the area around the pivot is very difficult to access.

How many of you try to get this area clean each year and how do you do it? I doubt mine has every been cleaned. I know I have never done it.

The yard does a power wash on haul out (they also do the bottom painting...) and they get into there at that time.

Also a haul out powerwash, and I'm amazed that it isn't filled with zebra mussels by late summer.

I dug out the mussels with a paint stir stick and then blasted it with the pressure washer - got it cleaned out without any issues.
