I have the Starboard hatch panel, but modified with a 10"x6" Plexiglass(ish) window so that we can close the hatch and still see out to the cockpit.
Originally, I believe I used 4200 to secure it, but that failed on our last trip and the window popped out. I had a tube of silicone sealer on board so used that, but it does a really poor job.
So I was wondering what that black sealer is that Catalina uses on the side and front cabin windows of the C250. Anyone know the brand/type ??
Randy, My O'day ports are screwed to the hull. Once I removed the screws, I gently pushed the ports from the inside and they slowly pulled way from the sealant. Cleaned up with a razor scraper and mineral spirts. I read somewhere that you could use a guitar string to cut the sealant. You would need to work a end of the string through the sealant and have a helper on the inside or outside work with you as you pull (saw) the string throught the sealant around the port..
