My 9.9 Yamaha 4 stroke won't start cold. I have to get to the throttle linkage and pump fuel manually into the carb and then hold the throttle open to get it running. If I let go it will stall out. Once warmed up, starts on one crank and idles beautiful, and has good power while in use. Any ideas? Does anyone know how to test the cold start/high idle solenoid on top of the carb? (there is no choke) I think the problem will be there. If anyone has ideas or have had similar problem, please help. I keep my boat in a remote place away from the city and it would be such a drag to have to remove the engine and bring it to town for repair. Thanks Gents!
