Hi -its probably an easy "search" if I knew the proper term, but I need a new "cotter pin" for my rudder. I need a stainless one. Any ideas? I cannot find it via a Google search, not sure of the terminology.
If your talking about going through the pintle, a cotter pin works fine, as does a cir clip. Either should be available in stainless at any marine store. You can probably get them at a big-box store, but all stainless is not equal.
The original Catalina 22 and 25 pintles were 3/8". The heavy duty ones that CD sells are 1/2". I have no idea what size the cotter pin hole is, but I would guess 3/32", possibly 1/8".
