I ordered one, but the hole pattern was different. From what I've read, Catalina changed the hole pattern at some point. To install the new style stanchion, it looks like I could still use two of the original holes, and but would have to fill the other two and drill two new ones.
I'm hoping to find an old one so I don't have to put new holes in my boat.

When you install it you need to fill in the holes and re-drill them anyway. Take a nail and bend it over, insert it into your drill and dig out any rotted wood between the headliner and the deck then fill the hole with epoxy and fiber-glass threads, let it set then drill a new hole. You may be surprised how much epoxy flows in. There are some posts about parting out old C-25's in the swap meet, search for "Parting Out". Good luck.
If you ahve to epoxy and re-drill, its no extra work at all to just goa ahead and make 2 new holes and epoxy all 4, then redrill only the ones you need.
Do you think I ought to fill and redrill holes for all of my stanchions and other deck hardware? I don't have any soft spots or water leaking into the cabin from under the deck hardware.
What kind of epoxy do you like? I've previously only used Marine-Tex.
My advice is don't drill holes in your deck. Is the hole patern the only difference? If so, buy a new piece of stainless and have a weld shop cut off the old base plate and have them weld on the new one. You can find the stainless at Online Metals. They will cut it to size for you. If you can't get there send me an email at catalina0029 at yahoo.com. I can fix it for you. What happened to the old stancion?
