I'm looking to buy two used two-speed self-tailing Lewmar winches, either size 45 or 48, or the equivalent size by Anderson or Harken. I'm posting this in the hope that, among all our sailors, someone might know of a pair that is for sale. I'm also watching ebay and have checked Craigslist. Thanks!

Hey Steve,

Have you called Minnie's? They have lots of each kind of sailboat part.

Thanks for the suggestion, John. I haven't called Minney's but I searched their website, as well as Bacon's, and didn't find any that would fit. There are 3 Lewmar 3-speed winches on ebay at a good price, but I really think I need self tailers. When the conditions start to get rough, I need 3 hands to sail the boat, and only have two. What I need is for a big hurricane to blow through and break up a bunch of 35-40' boats (but not mine) to increase the supply of parts.

IF -- you can wait until April, Defender has really great pricing at their warehouse sale. I have seen Anderson at 60% off in past years

Thanks to all for the suggestions! Kip Casada emailed me a posting on Craigslist for a pair of Lewmar ST 44s, and I just made a deal for them with the seller. I had a feeling one of you guys would come through for me. You guys are great!
