I'm really happy about our new boat. She's the third one we've looked at, and is by far the best of the three. Everyone here has been instrumental in the acquisition of my wife's and my new family member. Without everyone here, we wouldn't have been nearly as informed as we needed to be when researching the boat. Everyone here has my sincere gratitude. Thanks for everything. I know this website will be a great resource for me in the months and years to come. Though I have much to learn, I hope to be able to repay everyone at least some in returning good advice and insite from my experiences with the C25.
<b>"Well, it finally happened...We picked her up on Saturday in Michigan, and drove almost 500 miles back to Columbus, Ohio. She's named Adventurous, and she's an 1987 SK/SR, hull # 5553. We think she's beautiful.</b>
Congratulations! It's a Boat!...Where's my cigar?
What an excellent Christmas gift. Now you just have to wait for the spring thaw and, hopefully, the anticipation won't drive you nuts. That's what happened to me.
Again, congratulations.

Congrats and welcome to the Club! (That has to be the biggest name decal I've ever seen on a C25...<img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>) Derek on "This Side Up" TRFK #2262
Congratulations, Ben! What a great Christmas present. . . the gift that keeps on giving and giving (to West Marine, et.al. . . . ). May Spring come soon for all of us, but especially for you!
It's hell to have a new toy and not be able to play with it! She looks in real good condition, like the PO took time to keep her up. May you always have fair winds.
Congrats... and yes, the C25/250 National Association has helped many new and old owners. Y'all welcome aboard. You did find a very clean boat... know the search culminated with good feelings.
Sweet vintage, and great boat! Halyards led aft and everything--you're in for a great ride! And swingers are that much more attractive when they've lived in fresh water. You now officially qualify to formally join (pay dues to) our elite organization. <img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>
Omigosh! Your wife looks just like my older daughter!
Anyway, what a Merry Christmas for you guys!!

Great looking boat, and great looking smiles on your wife and your faces. I'm sure my wife, the English teacher, would shoot me for that last sencance, let alone my spelling. The boat seems to be well named too. Quite an adventure towing a boat 500 miles.
Thanks for all the nice words. This group is probably the nicest and most knowledgable about a particular topic that I've ever known. I plan on sailing her on Alum Creek Reservoir. Not a big body of water, but the biggest around Columbus. I'm hoping to be able to take her up to Lake Erie a couple times each summer, but we'll see. I hear Lake Erie can produce some pretty big waves.
Yes, I did save her from Michigan, and she's definitely in Buckeye Country now. If it wasn't for those darn Wolverines, though, I'd have nothing bad to say about Michigan. I love it up there.
I don't have any other good pics yet. When the season begins, only four short months away, I'm going to have many taken of her in the slip and underway. My wife enjoys sailing too. She does get a bit cranky when the wind dies though. Perhaps since we have the finished cabin, we can go below, eat lunch or whatever until the wind comes back up. We also plan on bringing our two dogs along. I've got a picture of Spunky, my little boy.
We all tend to get a little cranky when there's no wind. However, find a nice cove, drop the hook, break out the awning, wine and snacks, perhaps a little swim....
<b>"...you saved her from Michigan...She's a Buckeye now man!" - Paul</b>
Uhh,...Paul...everyone knows if you want a quality boat you have to come to Michigan to get it. Of course, with you being a Marinette owner, I don't have to tell you that Marinette Yachts are manufactured in Marquette, MICHIGAN!
I've been waiting for a Michigan comment.<img src=icon_smile_clown.gif border=0 align=middle>
Hey Don and Don,
After all those years of getting beat up by Michigan<img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle>, us Buckeyes need to have some fun.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> Especially when it comes to burning up campus.<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>
Marinette was originally an SEC boat. Built in KY. Although, I think the name, Marinette, came from a town in Wisconsin.
I have that link you posted. It's fun to look at other Marinettes on there. There is a really cool 1966 named "Mean Irene"<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle> They're kind of like floating Energizer Bunnies..they just keep-a-tickin.
I got a really low ball offer the other day. Wife and I have decided that it won't be too bad to have the cabin cruiser in the family. It may delay getting another C-25 but it will happen eventually.
We're pretty lucky just to have a boat toy right now.
Ben's 87 looks really nice. The gelcoat looks excellent in the pictures.
I, uh, ugh, hate to admit it, ah,<img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle> . . . but, <font size=1>Go Bucks. Beat Miami!</font id=size1> Uh, got one in church, a Buckeye, and I have to submit to him too!
There only 40 days 'til 2003 first sail!

Congrats on your '25! We got ours, it's a 1985 C25, in January/Febrary and we have had more fun on it. It has been a great boat to learn on, and a great one to sail.
Can I ask where you got it from? We had our boat slipped at Torresen's Marine in Muskegon, and from the pics you posted it looked as though it could have been there. Just curious. We didn't buy ours there as we found it on the Internet, but if you did get it from them they are very good to work with.
Anyway, we had to wait for sailing weather also after getting ours, and it was a painful wait! But, it's worth it once you're out on the water. Congrats again!

Don, I use to ski in Glens Falls in February and March. How does one sail at The Great Sacandaga Lake at that time of year?
