We went out yesterday, taking a couple from church who are also co-owners of a C-22. The forecast was for clear to partly cloudy skies and southerly winds 5-8 mph, and temps up to 89. I was fearing barely enough wind to move the boat, and for a while it looked like my fears would be realized. However, it turned out to be a beautiful day for sailing with a full main, 150 drifter, and the bimini up. The bimini definitely helped, especially since I forgot to apply sunscreen. Our friends were looking forward to experiencing the bimini. All told, we were out about 5 hours and had a delightful sail; had enough wind to heel the boat a few times, enough for the admiral to give me the "fall off to a reach and flatten the boat" look a few times. so gusts were probably in the 10 range. Going out again tomorrow.

US TOO ! We commissioned yesterday...went out for about 6 hrs today...steady wind; 10 - 15...clear skies...it's been a long miserable winter, we are so glad to be back out !
I'm jealous....winds have all but ruined the weekend here. Steady winds of 25 to 30 with gusts to 50...supposed to let up a little tomorrow, steady 20 to 25 with gusts to 35. Chop on the lake has been 3+ feet with whitecaps and blowing foam.
Of course, Tuesday it's supposed to drop off to less than 12 and be beautiful....figures...
I second Scott's comment. We've got vicous gusts up to 45 here all weekend and Tuesday is 12-15. Although , i cant complain, I've had 3 good days out since we launched last week.

Don't feel bad, it's been blowing here for weeks too. And of course, tomorrow it's supposed to drop off to more normal levels. If things go as they do most years the winds in the next couple of weeks will drop off to almost nothing until this fall.
