I'm adding a short #8 cable from the positive battery to a Sea Fuse Block with a 100 amp fuse in it, for my main lead to the circuit panel. I don't have any leads to my engine.
Thank's Bruce ( Voyager ) for clearly explaining several plans for wiring for me. It really helps to review the different options.
I'm an hour from my boat so it is one step at a time for me...

<< Take care to not allow it to short. >>
I've done that once. Never again.
<<What wire gauge do you have coming from the Sea Fuse Block to the main panel? #8, #10, #12? How long is the wire? About 8-10 feet? >>
#8 I have not inspected the run yet. It is about 6 feet. My guess it is the original wiring.
<< What gauge is your ground lead coming back from the main panel to the battery? It must be approximately 12-15 feet depending on the routing >>
#8 about 6 feet. From Ground buss bar to the battery.
I'm going to inspect that run this weekend when I add the seafuse. As usual, you think you know what any given run is doing, and when you go to inspect it you often find surprises..
