Just getting my boat back in the water after a few years of inactivity...does anyone have any photos of their topping lift set up...memory not serving me well and can't find any guidance in the manual...any photos greatly appreciated! Thanks Dan #727
mine is a 2002 ..it is tied at the top of the mast , comes down and through the end of the boom out through the side to a cleat . the other side is the outhaul .. sorry no photos
It sounds like Sean has a single continuous line. This will work great (and is probably simpler to use) but, you won't be able to disconnect the boom without re-threading the line through the boom each time.
I have a line tied at the masthead that extends toward the aft end of the boom. I have a line that is tied to the end of the boom that goes up through that block back down to a sheave at the end of the boom then through the boom to a jamb cleat near the forward end of the boom. This setup allows you to disconnect the boom for trailering or winter storage without needing to re-feed the line through the boom each time.
