I'm finally getting around to installing a rail mounted propane barbecue but am stuck when it comes to ordering the mount. What size are the stern catbird rails on a 250? I'm leaning towards mounting it starboard for easy access to the onboard propane tank.

Not really interested in screw down mounts as it creates the need to drill into the boat. When it comes to holes in the boat, less is better.

So please, rail size is.......?

We use the bottled propane and store the bottles in the fuel locker.

I have the same set up that Randy has on <i>Nautiduck</i>. We're very, very pleased with it.

Good luck,
Martin

Randy: What is that white platform in the photo? Food prep surface or place to have spices and cooking tools? Craig

It's the Nautiduck Folding Helmsman Seat. The archived post is locked so I couldn't up-size the photos. Let me know if you want the larger photos posted.

I love this mod. And, yes, it doubles as a table for cooking.

Randy - love the seat you've installed. Ever think about marketing this little gem?

Randy: Thanks for the info, very well done. I can see another project in my future. Oh by the way I did a google search on Garhauer “Fighting Chair” and you were listed as the 3rd topic; impressive. What is the URL for the chair? Smooth sailing, Craig

Well, I figured out why I am so high on the Google search. There is NO Garhauer Fighting Chair!!

It is a Garelick Fighting Chair.

Here is one source. I have the one without the gimbal.

Here is the Garelick site.

Bob,
I slide the handle on my BBQ down into a stainless fishing rod holder that I keep mounted on the back of my stern rail seat and it works great! No drilling, no fuss!
