Hi John,
We have a beautiful lake that is currently at an all-time low (12' below datum).
There are 3 marinas on the lake. Cranes Mill Marina (public)on the south side, Canyon Lake Marina (public) on the north side and Lake Canyon Yacht Club (private) close to the dam on the north side.
My yacht club is Hill Country Yacht Club and we have about 50% sail and 50% power and have many social activities. We pay $25.38 a month and get at least one free meal and drinks for that. We also have a racing program and could certainly use another C25! Lake Canyon Yacht Club is all sail and they have a larger racing program in which we can compete.
Our slip fees are $7.85 a foot and the marina management is excellent (they own both the public marinas on the lake).
Let me know when you are coming and I will be glad to show you around.

Been watching the levels lately. All that rain and it's only gone up 2/10th's of a foot. Gonna take a LOT more. :(

BTW, about the Marinas. Don't forget that there's Ft. Sam and Lackland Marina's if you're military.

Derek, Just a question. When places bill you by the foot, is that the length of the slip or the length of your boat. We have 2 slip sizes and only 2 rates. There is a 26 ft limit on boats in our smaller slips, but a 21 ft boat pays the same as I do, since each of us is occupying the same size space.

David our marina has the same principle. You pay according to the longer of the boat or the slip.

In my experience here in FL it's always by the length of your boat.

Here's the Canyon Lake Marina website: http://www.clmarina.biz/

You can call them and ask for availability. There may be a waiting list.

If you're military, here's Ft. Sam's park fees: http://www.fortsamhoustonmwr.com/vsm/pages/151/bin/canyonLakebrochureDec1.pdf

Currently Canyon Lake marina is only about 60% filled - no problem with getting a slip.
Randolph AFB marina only has a few sailboat slips and they are probably all occupied. I believe that Fort Sam Marina is moving to Randolph marina when they build more slips.
