I'm thinking of buying a new boat. I'm curently considering one in Mobile, Alabama, but there are others in Minnesota, Indiana, etc. How much does it cost to have a boat hauled 1,000 miles? It's on a trailer and weighs about the same as a Catalina 25.
Thanks,

Current price of gas/gallon times the mpg for a 1/2 ton pickup. Include pickup rental if you don't currently own one, food, and lodging. My 1/2 ton GMC gets 14 mpg towing 5000 lbs. That's 71.4 gallons at $3.40 (?) per gallon = about $242 - fuel for the return trip. At 15mpg without hauling - 66 gals...about $226 for the trip up - $468 total fuel.
Surely you don't want to give up your C-25! If you are asking about having a mover haul it for you, I expect you could count on at least $2,500-$3,500 for AL to VA. David
We had ours hauled from Detroit to North of Toronto (500 km / 310 miles) Last November (11 months ago) at that time a commercial hauler charged us about $1200.
Not sure if this is a fair indication for you or not. I don't know whether you can just apply a multiplier, or if the formulas would be non-linear.
