And on this one you can be as feminist as you want.

That's incredibly ballsy, good for her! She must have a site that we can track her progress on.

Edit: got it: www.hilarylister.com

Dude, as a feminist meself I call the babes above ladies with brass ovaries! Every single one of the ladies pictured above pilots their own boat, maintains them, and has had to put up with sexism in our male dominated society. But this female sailor does take the cake. Wow! Here in Newport there is a program called "Shake a leg" which takes handicapped sailors out on specially designed boats. I always thought the name was wrong, but it's great to see the smiles on their faces when they race by.

I read that article in my paper today and thought, "Wow". She must really love sailing. I would love to meet her one day.

IMHO - the news in this story is the fact that the single handing sailor is a quadriplegic, being a woman should have nothing to do with it.

It's great she can have the same fun we have in the wind and the waves. All the power to her!

I think the North Sea and the Shetland and Orkney Islands are a bit more of a challenge than my placid Chesapeake, however!

Here's more info about this sailing adventure.

Fair winds, Hilary Lister!
