"Yesterday, I noticed that the stove was installed in the counter top, but I now realize that I didn't see any fuel tank for the stove, so I'm a little concerned. I suspect that the stove may be one of those that uses the tiny butane or propane cylinders, and this isn't really what I wanted. So, my questions:

WHERE should the tank be located for the stove in a new-ish C-250?

Pardon the formatting, I am responding via blackberry on the road

The 2006 and 2007 models use a single burner butane stove. You can distinguish the stove by location (it is located directly over the location of the cooler ) and by the fact it has a wooden cutting board coverm. The butane cartridges are installed in a compartment that is an integral part of the stove (right side of the stove immediatele behind the combination ignitor/flow control valve)

WHAT type of fuel should the stove use? Propane? Butane?

WHAT is the fuel capacity for a "standard" stove fuel tank?
+++++++++++++++++++++++
The fuel is 10 oz disposable butane canisters

I belive the last year that they did the external propone tank was 2005.

As an aside I have found the butane stove to be an acceptable comprimise. One does not have to fiddle with canisters under the sink as was the case in the earliest 250s and it freees up the starboard side cockpit locker. Each butane canister has lasted about 4 hours

If you really want the external propane locker installation with propane stove they are available from Seward as a kit. if I remember rightly the propane locker and control solenoid is about 300 dollars, the stove is about 80. Then add installation

Catalina probably went woth the new model as a cost saving measure since the new stove is self contained drop that is easy (and comparetively cheap)

We also have the propane and like it a lot. Having the starboard locker freed up would be nice. We also keep 5-6 of the Coleman little propane cannisters in the locker for using with the grill and our new Mr. Heater Buddy!
