We've been looking for plates and soup bowls that will fit into the slots in the galley of our C250. The plate slot is 10" and most plates are 10 1/4". After looking all over I found a set at West marine that fits the bill. The plates are 10" and the soup bowls fit in the other slot just great. The mugs fit in the storage space above the plates and bowls. It is WM#3837598. All of the pieces have non-skid bottoms. The motif is compass and chart. Four each of plate, bowl and mug. Price is $49.99. Here is what they look like:

The dinnerware goes nicely with the blue anchor silverware from Defender (#401956). The silverware comes with the drawer liner which fits into the C250 galley drawers.

We cannot direct the winds but we can adjust our sails.

I see WM lists them as Melamine dinnerware. What is melamine? Some fancy name for Plastic or more like the Corelle dinnerware?

Corelle=melamine=plastic

We've had melamine camping dishes since 1973 and they are still around. Pretty durable stuff.

Disregard previous reply. Here is definition from Wikipedia:

Corelle is a brand of glassware and dishware. It is made of Vitrelle, a laminated tempered glass product with 3 layers of 2 distinct types of glass. The thermally bonded layers give Corelle incredible strength allowing it to be much thinner than other dinnerware. Introduced by Corning Glass Works in 1970, it is now sold by World Kitchen. Corelle is notable for being chemical resistant, durable, and lightweight. A typical Corelle dinner plate measuring 26 centimeters across weighs only 355 grams.

The product found a niche in the affordable dinnerware market and retained its success by adding new patterns through the years. The company website features dozens of patterns as well as offering buyers an opportunity to request a return of retired patterns.

So going back to this WM dinnerware would a steak knife leave marks behind?

No, a steak knife does not leave marks or scratches. We got a set of melamine dinnerware for our wedding - 35 years ago! It eventually became our camping dinnerware and is still going strong. Very durable stuff.
