The 5 gallon water container that is located under the sink in my 1996 WB has deteriorated and cracked. Does anyone have an source for the original or an alternative to replace it with? I don't use it much but would like to have it available mainly for washing hands.

PO has one installed under v birth. it adds weight to bow so I dont need sandbags like others have talked about. sorry I cant help with replacement. good luck. I am sure other can help.
Speaking of sand bags, I removed mine from the vee berth to make room for a 26 gal flexible water tank (thanks Paul). The new tank added with the 12 gal tank that was already up there gives me 38 gallons weighing in at a whopping 304 pounds.
Mark, I know the original C250 had the 5 gallon water tank under the sink. The newer models have a 12 gallon tank in under the v-berth. Since your boat is #206 and Tom's boat is #312 it was changed in between. I noticed Arlyn Stewart's boat is #224 so you might send him an e-mail directly.
Mark, if you wish to stay with a water supply located in the galley cabinet, it might be easier to find a container locally and just replace or recut the plywood floor section to fit.
The alternative is to go with a pair of 9 gallon Todd tanks in the aft section of the V-berth locker.
Well, I found out recently that Catalina has moved the production of the C250 to their Largo, Florida plant which just happens to be about a two minute detour on my way home from work everyday. I spoke with Warren, the Manager of Service and Technical Support about the water container. Since they have only had production of the boat for about a year and didn't have a lot of the notes from the earlier hull numbers on site, he had me contact Kent in California.
Kent found that the same 5 gallon container is still used in the C22 as part of an option package. Part #600164, price $21.18.
Kind of expensive for a plastic jug but relatively cheap as far as boat parts go.
Arlyn, although I wouldn't mind getting larger tanks, my budget says that $21.18 is more acceptable in the short run.
I am going to order the container and will post here if it is the real deal.
