I got out last Saturday for a three hour sail on the ICW (known as the Halifax River here in Daytona). It was a almost a perfect day! Had a ENE wind at about 10 kts. Between Adventure Yacht Harbor and the Inlet the ICW is a bit narrow though, with some tall condos so the wind was a little ..... inconsistent. Once I hit the inlet it picked up to a steady 15 kts, but I didn't have time to go out (sniff sniff). Sailed on by and almost to the north bridge in New Smyrna Bch. before coming about. LOTS of folks out for the father's Day week-end, a hundred or so on the inlet sand bars known as "Disappearing Island", glad I was in the C-25 and not the 14 ft. tri-hull skiff. Anyway, got back towards the marina and usually drop the sails while motoring but there was so much traffic I had to anchor (singlehanding it) to get the job done. Got back into the slip without a problem, ran fresh water through and all the gas out of the outboard and called it a day. Wow, if only every day was like this!

Yeah they're neat to see. I've seen where they were dumping unusable fish back into the ocean (outside the inlet) and the tarpon and sharks go nuts! Also cool to see guys all the way out at the end of the booms messing with those huge planers.
