.....in the Seattle area? I have just begun a search for a used Cat 25 and would LOVE to be able to step onto one just to see how it fits me (I am 6' 4") So far, from reading stuff from the internet, this is what I am looking for in MY perfect boat:

Catalina 25
1986 or newer
wing keel
pop-top
trailer

Those are the basics I think. The rest I expect to either be standard or icing on the cake. I haven't figured out if I am living in a dream world to be able to find this specific boat. So far, no luck. Maybe there weren't many wing-keels made. I also can't find many (any?) on this side of the U.S. with the constraints listed above. That kind of surprises me but perhaps I am looking in the wrong places.

So please let me know if you:

A. Own a boat that is close to the one described above and would LOVE to let me take a gander.

or

B. Own or know of a boat that fits the criteria above and it's FOR SALE!

Thanks so much.

We have an '80 fin keel in Tacoma if you want to look. Traditional interior. Also check Admiralty yacht sales web page. They usually have a couple in either Tacoma or Seattle. Good hunting!

I too have a fine C-25 in Tacoma. I would also be glad to give you a tour. After all thats how Doug got started LOL . Mine is a 1983 taditional interior fin keel tall rig. I also know where there is a swinger on a trailer that has been sitting for several years and is for sale. The boat looks bad but after a good cleaning might be a diamond in the rough. I will be out of town July 21st to July 28th sailing in the South Sound. I understand Wind Works of Seattle has two C-25 for sale but their prices are high. You might also look at classified in Portland.

I found my C-25 in the classified ads in 48° North. It is free at most marine stores around puget sound.

Consider having a reputable surveyor look at the boat too.

Good Luck!
