Just want to say thanks to all of you for this great site. Here are some tips that I learned here that we have used:
1-Added 275lbs of crushed rock in the bow and wrapped with Home Depot wrapping plastic. Bow is down and sailing is smoother.
2-Added handles to the companionway door. Much easier to handle it now.
3-Added a pedestal guard.
4-Moved the outboard an inch to starboard and got full turning - sent back the $75 bracket.
5-Installed blocks on the reef points to ease the physical strain for the crew.
6-Ordered the LED anchor light and will mod it ala' Turk.
7-Changed our Equalizer hitch to no longer need the special yoke bracket.
8-Added a teak vanity to the head.
9-Added a Nicro solar vent to the cabin roof.
10-Snaked the VHF coax through the cabin roof to the teak trim under the port-lights so the whole run is out of sight.
11-Created a new spring line which the Admiral will drop onto a cleat on the dock for improved docking control (We are going out Friday to practice a couple dozen times!)
There are probably items that I forgot. For each of these the instructions, explanation and photos on this site gave me the know-how to do the job. I hope that I can return the favor. Thanks everyone!
We cannot direct the winds but we can adjust our sails.
