The winter here is getting to me already and I am getting cabin fever. Now I know that those of you up north have it a lot worse, so this may sound like sour grapes. I am having withdrawals from the lake, nice warm days, and favorable winds. I finally got the ice off of the driveway yesterday. It was 2 inches thick and weighed a ton. Then it has been cloudy and rainy all day yesterday and today. Only expected in the 40's for the next week or so.

Now I know why we moved here from Minnesota..you guy's are just getting started. Boy do I need a weekend with good weather. Wonder if there is a free clinic where I can get a sailing substitute? This is what I am waiting for:

In my opinion 75% of the earth is water for a reason. That's why I sail.

Well, me and the admiral are off on a week on the Voyager of the seas to the sunny Caribbean (Feb 24th) . That will suffice!

Have a great trip. We have our 30th anniversary later this year and will probably do the same thing. Although leaving summer here for summer there is a little less dramatic. We want to fly all the way to SJU and take a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. We have been all the way to St. Kitts and now want to take in the Grenadines.

My wife and I are also celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary this summer along with 4 friends of ours. Both couples also celebrating their 30th. We are going on a Mediterranean 12 day Celebrity cruise.

Mike if you need a Fix.. go to www.under30undersail.blogspot.com this is the log of the sailing vessel Whisper, a 27' Albin Vega they just crossed the gulf stream and they have video. It been interesting following them and watching their adventures, from our cold land here in Ohio ,with snow on the ground ,Bright spot is only about 70 days to Launch!

Hi Mike, I bet if you flew out to CA, Jim would give you a sail. Air fare is very low right now because of falling gas prices. Cheers.

Both Jim and I will be sailing our respective boats out of Mission Bay Friday evening until well after sunset. I will also stay over and sail Saturday. Come on out to San Diego and sail with us.
There's also Dave on his 25, Charlie on his 250, Mike on his 25, Sel on his Columbia 27, and Ken on his 28ft S2. Lots of sailing going on here. Just bring sandwiches and beer

Well thanks for all the offers, they sure are tempting. However, we are sticking close to home for while. Not that we couldn't go since we are empty nesters now, and waiting for school vacations are a thing of the past...yay. We are just starting to build our retirement house. We signed the papers on Tuesday and the builder hopes to start next week. Since it is a custom home, we will be tied to it until he finishes. This is our second custom home and I swore to never never do another, but here I am again. Never say Never...

The reason we are building a new home?....It is closer to the lake where we keep Antares, our C-25 Standard Rig. It was the Admiral's idea...can you beat that?

Reminds me of a name I thought of for my new boat:

LAST BOAT II

(...but I'm not using it.)

Dave, I know what you mean. This is our 6th house and the statement: "This is our last house we are going to own............we think." comes to mind.
