Sean, really like you seat. How about some instructions to go along with the picture. Also like the heater. Will have to look at Lowe's the next time I'am there.
the heater uses two 1 pound propane canasters , but you can use 1 at a time it will just run out quicker. the down side is the can sweats(condensation) a little while in use. no big deal a few drips . and you have to keep a small vent or window open when you use it inside. but this thing throws off a lot of heat I am very happy with it 18,000 btu's. it will heat you up in winter too if you work on the boat. It also fits under seat in the boat .I 'm keeping it there for now when not in use.
The seat by the wheel started out as a good thought and wound up costing alot. I used 4 snap shackels ouch ! to take it off quick . and the back rest I use Quick pins from a bimini, so I can take that off quick too ,but most of the time we just go under it . The back pad is called a bolster its in the west marine catalog , in the seat section. I used galvinized u clamps from home depot to hold it on the bar. the seat is real confortable it was worth the cost. the material is for a catamarn trapoline from ,sailrite catalog
Sean, what kind of dink is that you're towing? Do you like it? I am in the market for a dink and have looked at the Walker Bay 8 and the WaterTender 9.4. That doesn't look like either of them.
Its ok its a walker bay style its a bit tipy if you stand up in it . and that black rubber bumpper drives me crazy ,it marks the boat every time it hits .you can whipe it off it just needs one of those canvis protections. I have wheels for it that go on the motor mount, with the v hull its easy to rollit up side down. to use the wheels. we use a 3.3 motor on it. boaters world has them for $399 p325 the launch at the marina has the flat bottom style , its more square its alot more stable but has alot more drag to it when you row . It would be nice to have a dingy that fits 4 people , I have fit 3 adults and one puppy on it and felt confortable (it was night and calm) but its only me and my wife that go out anyway .
We bought one of the west marine inflatabal mini dingys, $199 p.194 . Its the right size we can blow it up inside and throw it over. it fits inthe boat rolled up under the seat . and when your done it fits perfect on deck,to dry out. but it stinks to row , the mounts move all around , its only good to get you to shore before you start getting upset . theres a electric motor mount , this winter i am going to try to make a motor mount that fits ,then it should work fine ,if it works .
so check out the boaters world dingy its half the price but none of those sail kits will work if you like that suff.
I guess every thing is how you are going to use it , if you go ashore alot (we do for a launch were on a mooring and we load it up) the hard bottoms are a little tuffer .
this one is nice you can put a 25 hp on it for get the price $4000 with out the motor so if were dreamin ill get this one it will look good next to the new boat ok back to reality
Thanks Sean. I'll check on that dinghy, $399 is reasonable. Check out the WaterTender at WM for $499. It looks like a stable dinghy and still reasonable $. The mini inflatable is probably the most practical but since when is practicality a factor.
Thanks for posting the photo of our larger cruiser. It is not for sale.
