I posted this on the General Forum but no response, so I'll try here:
"Just bought a Sevylor 360 Fish Hunter inflatable from www.inflatablestores.com It's PVC and not Hypalon, so I'll have to treat it with 303 Aerospace Protectant for UV protection. Anybody out there have a Sevylor and, if so, what are your negatives and/or positives? I use a dinghy so infrequently it didn't make sense to pop for a "real" inflatable"
I have a Sevylor 2 man inflateable 10 fooot kayak. It fits perfect in the cabin and works well and is quite stable. Much easier to live with that a dingy when using with a 250. As far as UV protection, since I store mine inside the cabin, that is not a problem. I have used power inflators and prefer a big foot pump. Just a lot less fuss.
Sounds like you've come up with a solution that works for you. At the price of inflatables you could probably buy four or five Sevylors while you own your 250. My only concern would be towing in high wind. iIf it's too light it may end up flying around on the tether. But then, with a Sevylor you can problably stow it below easily an inflate it on deck when you need to.
I usually store my little 10', two man kayak inflated on one side of the V berth. I use it for a water toy or back and forth when camping near islands. I only deflate it at the end of sailing season when I put all the toys away.
