We have all seen the props and other badges on receiver plugs. They are cool. Bill Meinert has created a sailors version and he is offering them to us first. He has a standard rudder and a balanced rudder.
" The rudders are only 8" long and I have tried it on cars, vans and trucks. I made it so that it does not ride any lower than the trailer when it is attached when towing your boat. So clearance is not a problem, no more so than when you tow the trailer. I make the hitch insert from scratch, that is I don't buy something already made and modify it. I do it all. The rudder is made out of hickory and then is epoxied with west marine epoxy then they are spray painted with epoxy. Then who ever buys one can put their own bottom paint on it to match their boat."

I will let him finish explaining the product and pricing, I am just the photo poster.

Don't have a trailer, but well done Bill. Much much nicer than a prop.

My hitch rudders are availuable for $30 plus shipping. Please allow 2 weeks for delivery. You can contact me at wmeinert@kconline.com , please put in the subject box "Hitch Rudder Order" so that I don't trash your email as junk. Remember, these are hand made and there may be slight differences when you compair them to each other. But they are made to the specs shown in the catalina direct catalog. If for some reason you feel you may need to have the rudder raised to a higher position please indicate how high above the reciever you need it. Your new hitch rudder will come in "White" Only, you can add you own bottom paint directly too it the next time you do your own boat bottom or if you have some left over paint.
