Our Christmas present was a 04 Catalina 250 water ballast. We're anxious to meet and sail with others in our area. Day sails or weekends. I'm planning a trip to the keys in August weather permitting of course. Would love to hook up and sail, talk sailing, diving, fishing and create some outstanding sunset happy hours. Would also like info on launching locations around Venice. Hope to hear from ya'll soon.

Thanx, Gary

Gary,

Nice Christmas present!

We are entering our second season sailing our 250 water ballast. Our first season was more fun then we could have imagined. This forum is the best, countless knowledgeable sailors always willing to help out. Read, ask questions and learn as I did. I found solutions to problems I didn't know I had.

Most of our sailing has been on the Chesapeake Bay, a bit far to hook up and sail the keys but who knows? When you arrive be sure to dive Looe Key.

Welcome Gary.
Maybe we'll see you around the keys sometime.
We regularly launch from Black Point Marina in Biscayne Bay or John Pennekkamp state park in Key Largo. Our trips are always a minimum of 3 days (too much work to just do a day trip.)

As Quentin said, search the forum: With over 20,000 posts, there a some great ideas and some early warnings.

Welcome aboard Gary, You have entered the 250 zone ... you can find out anything you ever wanted to know about the 250 here.

You should hook up to that new boat of yours and pull her across state to Pensacola the first part of June and break her in on the 2006 B.E.E.R. Cruise. We have 56 Sailors signed up so far.
