I'm not ready to give this boat away -- if I'm going to do that, it will be for the tax deduction. However, I am very motivated to sell. So I'm knocking $1,000 off the asking price, and moving this up on the list.

1984 C-25 swing keel standard rig. Located in Auburn, Maine. 1999 10-hp Honda 4-stroke long-shaft manual start outboard with cockpit remote control, on 1996 lifting bracket.
Sails: 2000 new Doyle mainsail with reefing line and downhaul controlled from cockpit. 135 genoa (serviceable for now but will soon need replacement) on CDI roller-furler. Cruising spinnaker, little-used in good condition.
Interior: V-berth has accordion door for privacy as does head compartment. Thetford Marine portable electric-flush head with 6-gal holding tank, with y-valve and Whale pump for overboard discharge. Hanging locker across from head.
Galley: Two-burner propane stove. Sink w/manual pump and 14-gallon water tank. Icebox with overboard drain.
Nav gear: Bulkhead-mounted Ritchie compass, tested and found no deviation 2000. Furuno radar. (If you cruise the Maine coast, sooner or later you will be glad you had this.) Davis Weather-Station III with wind speed and direction indicator mounted on radar mast. Standard Horizon speed, log and depth.
Navco Tillerpilot 2500 as well as Davis “Tillermaster” steering damper and lock.
Ground tackle: standard Danforth-type anchor with chain and nylon rode, as well as a heavy Danforth-type storm anchor with chain and rode.
Other: Standard VHF radio with scanning function. Custom-made Dodger new in 1997. “Pop-top” cabin for 6’ 2” headroom with snap-on vinyl enclosure for use when moored or anchored. Brand new keel winch and keel cable. (The winch is installed but cable needs to be hooked up, which requires the boat to be raised, so it’s most easily done just before launch).
The Load-Rite Trailer got new surge brakes in 1999, and has not been in salt water since. (The boat has been launched and hauled once a year by crane.) I re-wired the trailer in spring 2002.
This is an excellent boat for someone who wants to get into coastal cruising for a low cost. Excellent for a couple with or without a kid or two. It is also perfectly set up for single-handing, with all sail lines (main halyard, reefing line, downhaul, and jib roller-furling lines) led through two triple rope clutches, one on each side of the cabin top. The radar display can be mounted in the companionway and the radio is on a swing-out bracket, so you can use it from the cockpit. The engine remote controls are a major convenience when docking or mooring.
The previous owner bought this boat in 1996 for $8,500 and put almost $10,000 worth of improvements into her before I bought her in May 2001. (I have all the documentation.) After two seasons (and a 10-day Downeast cruise) my wife said if we’re going to do this we need a bigger boat. So we got a Pearson 303, and Libecchio hasn’t been in the water since 2002. Since she’s paid for and sitting in my yard, I haven’t been as motivated as I should have been to sell. However, at this point I am very eager to see Libecchio go to a new home. Asking $6,900, which is negotiable.

Hi:

I know the seller and looked at the boat last summer on land. The boat and trailer are in excellent condition and have been well cared for.
