Saw a discussion on availability of VC-17 in another post, and thought I would share what I have learned.

The VC-17 that we have all been using for the past several years has been phased out, due to tightening EPA requirements. A new version of VC-17 is being rolled out by Interlux pretty much as I type this. Several of our local outlets are starting to receive it, while others are still awaiting shipments. It appears that West Marine is among those that are waiting.

The new VC now comes in the familiar colors, along with a new one: black.

If you have a dealer with stock of the old paint, it can still be purchased, and applied for another season (I purchased 3 quarts of blue back in January), but new shipments will be the new formula. Time will tell if the new formula is as effective or not.
