Seems to be leaking behind the fuel compartment and flowing down into the dumpster. A lot of black crusty residue back there and the dumpster does get damp when it rains.
Other possible sources include the cockpit drains through your transom (leaks around flared brass tubes), any of the hardware on your port coaming, the hinges to the dumpster hatch, and the rub-rail in that area. If you see evidence of the backstay chainplate and can't reasonably access the nuts inside, I'd try applying some Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure where it can flow where the water is (theoretically) flowing.

Good idea dave, I was thinking it could also possibly be cockpit drains. Seems up high in that area though. I will check out the sealant you recommended, as I have not heard of it. I am probably going to install a deck plate in the fuel locker anyways and if I can't get to anything at least I will she'd some light on it.
I checked out creeping crack cure. Seems like a good alternative. It really doesn't rain much here, but it does dew quite a bit at the coast and that back stay collects a lot of moisture. I will pick up some crack sealant.
Just apply some where you think the water source is and let it flow where the water goes. It is just about like water, but then sets up in the voids it finds. It might take a couple of applications to get a complete seal. It is not meant for large leaks--more for places requiring capillary action to penetrate.

For the cockpit drains, I recoated the inside of both with epoxy. Made a huge difference. At one point, a minor (or so I thought) gasoline spill that worked its way below - scared the be-jeepers outta me! So I opened up the boat, pulled out the cushions from the quarterberth and opened the fender locker (dumpster). I put my 12VDC brushless fan inside (already running not to create a spark). Ran it all day until the smell wore off.
