Seems like a great idea. Maybe you can elaborate on the setup?
Edit: several people have built them - braced between the cockpit seats, specially created wooden frames... But all homebuilt adaptations as far as I know.
If it is a pole mount it's prone to breaking. Not a very good design for that application, especially given the opportunity for water to wick into the floor mounting, one of the last places you want to have delamination.

That's really a shame because it functioned amazingly. Could lock in 6 positions as well as tilt to stay level no matter the heel on the boat. The pole mount is actually an L shape the mounts right next to the bilge so it's not in your way. Gonna need to go see if I can find a brand on it and if not figure out how to make a new mount for it.
