Around here (Coast Guard Academy, New London station, sub base, Electric Boat...), when they're closing on me like that, I expect the blue lights to come on so they can come aboard and "take a look around." Last week I was approaching New London and saw a sub departing with CG escorts with guys at the 50mm guns (or whatever they are)... I turned back.

the 50 cals are for shooting recreational boaters who get to close!
