I've just found this interesting battery operated plasma lighter.

China copy??

Do you think it can be useful on boat, especially at windy situations to seal the rope ends?
Or after modification, maybe used as a alcohol stove lighter?

I normally use the butane lighter. Maybe I have some bad one, but after a while in the storage, the butane slowly evaporates.

Hmm...excellent thought about sealing rope ends. It might be worth giving it a try. Might have to put that on my wish list!
