I tested the grill that came with the boat... does this flame look normal to those who have these rail mounted grills? Just wondering... will give it a sea trial this weekend...

The valve is set to maximum burn in the photo.

Thanks,

-Richard

I do have the Magma grill and that does look a little low for a high setting.

I have a Magma grill as well, and agree that the flame looks somewhat low. Is it a new propane canister, or previously used? Was it very cold out when the picture was taken? Propane & cold are not good friends.

Yes, cold. New cylinder. I cleared all the tubing, checked the orifice.

Maybe it was the cold...

These grills are known for not working well providing adequate heat for grilling or even making coffee. I decided to put small lava rock in and all around the burner unit to both spread the heat over the entire grill surface and keep the wind from blowing the heat right out of the grill. It is the answer! Try it and you will all be very impressed!
Just got back from a month at Bodega Bay and it blowed like snot the entire month! Chief
