So I replaced my original waste line from my head to my holding tank this year because of odor issues. I bit the bullet and used Shields Poly X. The flexibility and how easy it slid onto the barbs was great. Slightly tight passing it through to the wet locker, but I sprayed some Sail Kote and it then slide straight through.

If you think you can, or think you can't, pretty soon you find out your are right! H.F.
Not sure where your holding tank is, but if it's back in the battery lazarette, the long run of hose exacerbates the problem, since that's a huge amount of dead volume to wash out with each flush. Plus, the fact that the tank is too high relative to the toilet makes the head much more dependent on a properly working joker valve.
If your tank is right behind the wet locker, good for you! If not, you might consider moving it there if problems persist.
I never got around to moving mine out of the battery lazarette, opting to minimize usage of the head instead.
