I'm restoring a 25 SK hull# 945. I'm looking to set the bunks on the trailer. I bought the manuals but the trailer specs are for a FK. What's the minimum height needed for the bolster brackets?

If you tell me where you want the measurements taken from I will get them as my C25 and trailer are just on the other side of the wall from me right now. Start with assuming that the trailer is flat across. Also keep in mind that it doesn't set on the keel. The keel is lowered to the trailer bunk after it is loaded to take the weight off of the lifting system.

I modified a trailer to fit my SK, so measurements from a factory trailer may be more accurate. After some trial and error I used 30" as the height. 28 would have worked also. The most critical concern is to make sure there is zero weight resting on the keel trunk when you pull the boat out of the water. The weight of the boat is completely on the bunks, so they are fairly close together. Also, give yourself plenty of room to work on the cable when you lower the keel to the board.

I would like to know the distance from the top of the trailer rail to the bottom of the bunk. I would then have to add what I need to attach the bolster to the trailer. Sound right?

That height is also tied to the lateral location of the bunks, farther out requires more height.
